USA to face Samoa in Cup Final
In a rematch of the Sydney final, team USA took on the All Blacks Sevens for the sixth time this season. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they had to try to do it without Danny Barrett whose absence was felt almost immediately as Tim Mikkelson got around Matai Leuta on the edge for a first-minute converted try for New Zealand.
A penalty shortly after the restart gave the United States a lineout throw at the New Zealand ten, but a knock on gave the New Zealanders a scrum right away. From there, it was only a matter of time before Kurt Baker came open on the wing to move New Zealand ahead by twelve.
After the restart, the Eagles put together one of their best offensive attacks of the tournament, leading to a marvelous score by Folau Niua filling in on the left wing. Madison Hughes plaid the angle and the wind perfectly to connect on the conversion.
