Day 2 got started with a battle between British rivals Wales and Scotland. The Dragons were first across the try line with a score coming from Ben Roach at the three-minute mark of the first half. The conversion made it 7–0 ahead of the restart. Scotland pulled to within two when Jamie Farndale found himself unmarked on the wing for the try in the corner, just two minutes later. As the half drew to a close, Max McFarland plowed into the Welsh defense just out from the try line. Moments later, Gavin Lowe broke a tackle and got Scotland in for a converted try to take the five-point lead at halftime

It took nearly three minutes of the second half, but Wales got the vital second try thanks to Cai Devine. With Ethan Davies’s conversion, the two sides stood locked at 12 points each. Farndale’s second try of the match, this one coming with 95 seconds remaining, put Scotland back in front. Capped off by Robbie Fergusson’s conversion, Scotland moved in front 19–14.

As the clock showed full time, Wales maintained a chance at coming away victorious. That chance ended, however, with a knock on near the Scotland twenty-two meter line.
