The United States earned a comfortable victory versus the host nation in the first match following pool play.
USA speedster Carlin Isles was the story of the first half. Carlin displayed his world-class speed and found the try zone twice on two touches. Danny Barrett used his strength to find the try zone, which gave the US a sound 17-5 lead at the half.
