With the top seed already locked up, Argentina came out firing on all cylinders. The first score came from Santiago Mare and was followed almost instantly by a converted try form Luciano Gonzalez right up the gut. The Kenyan fans were soon given reason to celebrate as Cyprian Kuto turned on the magic for a spinning try into the right corner, making it 12–5 in the last minute of the first half. More cause for celebration was had when Argentina threw an errant pass, costing a try-scoring opportunity. A short while later, it was Kenya who found space and saw Jacob Ojee in for the converted try to end the half and level the match.
Kenya began the second half in the same way it finished the first. This time, it was Daniel Taabu breaking free for the converted try and the 19–12 lead. Francisco Ulloa tied it up with his converted try for Argentina. But Kenya refused to give in, reclaiming the lead with a second try from Kuto. The score held up in the end, giving Kenya the win.
