Fiji takes down the mighty All Blacks 7s
In what normally would have been a cup final matchup, the number one ranked Fiji faced the might All Blacks Sevens in the Quarterfinals.
In typical fashion, the match-up was hotly contested and found Fiji controlling the ball for the better half of the match.
An early score by Fiji put them up 5-0, which was countered by a New Zealand try and successful conversion to go ahead 7-5 going into halftime.
Throughout the second half, Fiji was able to hold-off a frustrated New Zealand team to come out on top with a 12-7 win.
The win eliminated the All Blacks Sevens from medal contention and advances Fiji in its march towards winning the country’s first medal ever.
