The USA men’s 7s team won the NAWIRA 7s Championships with two late tries to defeat Canada Sunday in Nassau, Bahamas and clinched their bid to IRB Sevens World Cup.

MIAMI – Following a week of training in Sunrise, Fla., the U.S. Men’s Sevens National Team Coach Al Caravelli named the 12 players headed to the NAWIRA [North America West Indies Rugby Association] Sevens Rugby World Cup Qualifiers in Nassau, Bahamas on November 22.

The International Rugby Board has unveiled the shortlist of nominees for the IRB Sevens Player of the Year award category. The ultimate accolade for Sevens players, the winner will be announced at the IRB Awards in association with Emirates Airline in London on November 23.

BOULDER, Colo. – Following a week-long training assembly in Florida and the conclusion of the USA’s Tour of Japan, U.S. Men’s Sevens Coach Al Caravelli has named the squad he’s bringing to the first IRB Sevens World Series events of the 2008-2009 season held in Dubai, UAE and George, South Africa.
