How many teams participate in the Las Vegas Invitational presented by Station Casinos?

The Las Vegas Invitational presented by Station Casinos has seen rapid growth in participating teams over the past few years.  In 2010, 112 competed at the LVI.  2011 saw an increase to 177 teams competing as well as the addition of the Men’s College CRC Qualifier 7’s Division for a wildcard spot at the USA Sevens Collegiate Rugby Championship Invitational.  For 2012, we expect to have over 200 teams competing!

What is the cost of team registration?

There are two different registration prices available for teams participating in the LVI.  Teams that plan on competing can pay a fee of $350 per team entered.  However, there is also an opportunity to register at a discounted rate of $150 per team if you select to stay at Station Casinos, the official LVI Hotels (http://www.stationcasinos.com/usa-sevens).  You can either reserve your hotel stay and meet the minimum number of room requirements to be eligible for the $200 rebate. Minimum hotel stay required: 7′s Team = 3 rooms for 3 nights or 9 room nights; 10′s Team = 4 rooms for 3 nights or 12 room nights; 15′s Team = 6 rooms for 3 nights or 18 room nights.

Note: teams will be charged the full amount of $350 until the minimum hotel room requirements can be verified. The $200 registration fee rebate will be processed on Jan. 9th for all teams that meet the minimum room requirements.

Can I pay one registration fee and enter multiple teams in multiple divisions?

No.  Any rugby club that enters multiple sides in multiple divisions to participate in the LVI must pay a registration fee for a team in each division.

What are the benefits of staying at a Station Casinos Hotel?

Not only will your team receive a $200 discount on your LVI Registration, but you will also be getting some of the most exclusive room rates in Las Vegas!  In addition to saving money, there will be free shuttle service provided between the hotels and the stadium, access to the Friday Night LVI Party and Saturday Night Polynesian Reggae Party hosted at Sunset Station, poker and slot tournaments are just to name to a few!  Additional Rugby Specials will be announced over the upcoming months!

I reserved room nights at a Station Casino Hotel, but have not received my $200 registration refund.  What should I do?

 If you have reserved your rooms at a Station Casinos Hotel, please contact the LVI Competitions Manager, Joe Rosen, at 630-926-6049 or jrosen@usasevens.com to arrange a refund discount on your team’s LVI Registration.

 How do I enter my team into the LVI?

You can enter your team by going to www.LVIrugby.com and entering your team’s information and payment information.  If you have questions before you register, feel free to contact the LVI Tournament Director, Jon Hinkin, at 702-267-8354 or jhinkin@usasevens.com.

 Will there be a shuttle from the LVI Hotel to the Stadium?

Yes!  Shuttles will be provided for LVI teams from Station Casinos Hotels (Sunset, Palace, Boulder) to Sam Boyd Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  More details to come! 

Is USA Sevens offering any additional transportation options?

 Yes!  USA Sevens has partnered with Dollar Rent A Car to offer USA Sevens Fans discounted rates on rental cars.

How does my team receive permission to tour from USA Rugby if we are an International touring side?

 Any International touring sides, must contact Lucy Zugschwert at lzugschwert@usarugby.org for permission to tour agreements.

My team is not registered with USA Rugby or I am not sure if our registration is up-to-date.  What should I do?
